At the Building a Caring Future Awards, there was a partnership working accolade for Northumberland County Council’s health and well-being team and staff from Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Northumbria Police and Northumberland Domestic Abuse Service.

By working together, a package of lessons was designed to raise awareness in young people of relationship abuse, sexual exploitation, rape and consent and there were training workshops for teachers from every Northumberland secondary school.

The council’s deputy chief executive, Daljit Lally, said: “I am delighted the hard work of all those involved in the project has been recognised.”
