Residents at a county care home have taken part in a balloon release to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease.
A special purple balloon release was held at Heatherfield Care Home in Annitsford, where each of the 25 balloons had a message saying “we remember their love when they can no longer remember”.
Ann Callan, who works at the home, said: “Residents and relatives attended the launch and had a brilliant time.
“The lady in the centre of the photo is Olive Pritchard, who has sadly passed away nine days after the launch.
“Olive’s daughter Debbie said to me what a lovely day it was, and that she will treasure the photo as her mam was so happy that day giggling and smiling and holding the balloon.
“Thank you to Balloon Bedlam for donating the balloons, it was a great chance for family members to come in past and present socialise.”
