Biomass plant will support local business

A new green power plant is to be created in the county this summer.

The biomass combined heat and power (CHP) plant will be built by Estover Energy in Cramlington

And the decision has already helped one Northumberland business, as PR firm Round Table Solutions has been appointed to keep residents informed of the progress.

Construction is due to start in the summer and on completion the plant will provide up to 27 megawatts of clean power to local businesses and to the national grid.

Round Table Solutions’ managing director John McCabe said: “Estover Energy has an impressive track-record of developing, fuelling and financing biomass CHP plants to supply electricity and heat to large, industrial energy users.

“This is a major new account win for Round Table Solutions and we’re looking forward to working with Estover Energy throughout the construction stage and on into the long-term operation of the plant.

“Round Table Solutions’ work with Estover Energy will include community engagement and marketing to ensure local residents are aware of the benefits of the new plant.”
