A Blyth care home has surprised a nearby hospital to mark the 70th birthday of the NHS.
Staff from The Oaks Care Home visited Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington to deliver gifts to the team.
The care home’s manager Ann Mielnik said: “We just wanted to give something back for their help with our residents when needing specialist care.
“We wanted to show them how much we appreciate their hard work and compassion so it was the least we could do.”
Activity co-ordinator Natalie Brimelow and senior carer Paige Gallagher delivered tea, coffee, sweets and stationary to the hospital.
The home was the first to deliver gifts to the hospital on the NHS 70th anniversary.
