There’s been lots of horsing around at a Cramlington care home lately.
Residents at the RMBI-run Scarbrough Court enjoyed a visit from a four-legged guest when Blondie the pony called in.
The visit was organised by activities co-ordinator Maureen Rolf as part of the home’s Animals and Nature themed sessions during spring.
Seven-year-old Blondie, who travels to various homes and community schemes across the region with KL Pony Therapy, visited each resident, even calling in to the nursing floor to meet those who were unable to leave their rooms.
Maureen said: “Animals play an important role at Scarborough Court, providing companionship to residents and staff. Their presence can help people to feel more comfortable and relaxed, especially those who had pets before they moved into the home.”
