Blyth progressed to the semi-finals of the Northumberland Cup with a hard fought win against strong opposition from Newcastle Novos.

Blyth, with three father and son combinations in their team, lost an early try, before Ollie Clark went over.

Novos hit straight back with another converted try, but Chris Hogg crashed over, converted by Brooks and it was all square at half-time.

Blyth took control in the second half and Jay Robinson went over for a converted try. From the restart Blyth kept up the pressure and Gareth Henderson jinked past several defenders to add another try converted by Brooks.

Blyth now face either Tynedale or West End in the semi-finals of the cup.
