BREXIT: Flyer cost is insignificant

editorial image

Charles Thompson, of Blyth, now gives us a lecture on the cost of a UKIP flyer, (News Post Leader, January 25).

The accounts of the EU have not been passed by independent audit for over 20 years. The flyer cost pales into insignificance against the billions of Euros issued under ‘EU funding’.

He questions the right of UKIP MEPs to continue as such, but does not acknowledge the instances when they vote against the mainstream of others on Brexit issues, which could be compared to turkeys voting for Christmas.

His final comment is that the UK economy has stalled, yet all financial indices over the last year have indicated that it is booming, with record unemployment figures. Even David Cameron has admitted that the economy has not been the disaster he anticipated.

So please, Charles Thompson, accept that what has happened is called democracy.
