A Brownie leader has been given a special farewell gift for her work over the years.

Margaret Millar has been involved in Girlguiding in Northumberland for many years, having held a number of key roles including that of County Commissioner.

She will retire from her role as brownie leader for 12th Blyth, but will continue guiding in Blyth with her role as division secretary, and was given a special brownie hug to say goodbye.

Margaret was given ‘Thank You’ scroll and presents, and she was presented with a leaver’s cake.

“I have enjoyed every minute of working with the girls especially this year being the 100thAnniversary of Brownies,” she said.

“I know that 12th Blyth Brownies will continue to flourish under the leadership of Holly Durwood my current assistant.”
