A Brownie unit from south east Northumberland is preparing to celebrate their first anniversary this week.
Friday, March 13, marks one year since the opening of 1st Bedlington (St Cuthbert’s) Brownie unit.
Since the unit opened, the girls have become more involved in the wider community, holding a Hallowe’en games night with 7th Ashington Brownies, and at Christmas their celebrations included going to the division disco and singing at Wansbeck Court in Bedlington.
Unit leader Hilary Elder said: “Opening the unit has been a fantastic experience. We have a great group of helpers and leaders and the girls are so full of fun.”
In the next few months the Brownies will be working towards earning their agility and disability awareness badges, as well as doing arts and crafts for Mother’s Day and Easter.
