A NEW manager has been appointed as a shopping centre looks to move ahead with a multi-million pound revamp.
Bruno Coppola is the new general manager for Cramlington’s Manor Walks.
The 48-year-old, who was previously boss at Queen’s Square Sandwell shopping centre in West Bromwich and at Carphone Warehouse, has succeeded Stuart Butler who retired in April.
Bruno will help spearhead plans that have been unveiled for the development of the retail and leisure complex in the town centre, including the creation of a cinema and restaurant.
Only three months into his role, Bruno has also created a year-long marketing strategy with local people at the heart of a community engagement and events programme.
He said: “Manor Walks has a unique position in the Cramlington community and surrounding Northumberland region.
“It is the largest shopping centre in Northumberland, which I don’t think has been promoted widely enough.
“I am surrounded by a great team and we have high hopes for the centre.
“I was drawn to the welcoming and passionate nature of the local people.
“We have lots of exciting new initiatives in place such as a fantastic programme of community events to some exciting competitions and initiatives with local schools and aspiring retail entrepreneurs.”
Manor Walks is a multi-use 500,000sq ft covered shopping centre.
