Miller Homes has pledged to raise the cash this year for international development charity Habitat for Humanity.

And already, £73,000 has been collected.

A significant sum will come from Blyth’s Portland Wynd development, where the cost of time in labour from building a ‘Habitat charity house’, overseen by site manager John Harrison, will be donated.

Miller Homes staff from the region have also taken part in a quiz night, golf day and barbecue, and a charity ball will be held at the Marriott Hotel in Gosforth on October 28.

Two workers are also taking part in a trip to Malawi to create homes for orphans and vulnerable children.
