A building site manager has been honoured for his dedication to the job at a Seaton Delaval housing development.
Paul Ritchie has been recognised in the first round of the annual NHBC Pride in the Job Awards.
Paul, of Miller Homes, won the award for his management of the Wheatfields development in Seaton Delaval, joining almost 450 other Quality Award winners from across the UK.
Now in its 36th year – Pride in the Job celebrates the exceptional contribution site managers make in creating homes of outstanding quality.
As well as undergoing spot checks on the day-to day running of the sites, each site manager is assessed across 37 areas of site management, including their technical knowledge, consistency in the build process and the quality controls they have in place.
“This is my seventh consecutive Quality Award and I have my fingers crossed that I will be awarded my sixth Seal of Excellence at the second stage of the awards later this year.”
As part of the year-long judging process, the Quality Award winners will now be shortlisted for Seals of Excellence and regional titles which will be revealed in the autumn.
The regional winners will then go forward to contest the national supreme winner title in their category at the Pride in the Job Gala Final in London in January.
Geoff Egginton, regional director for NHBC, said: “Congratulations to Paul, who should be commended for building homes of an outstanding standard in the region.”
