A dog treat business based in the county was shortlisted from thousands of entries in a nationwide competition.
Dawn and Mal Ross, from Cramlington, set up Mammy’s Biscuits after creating training treats for their dog Hugo.
The firm makes treats using natural ingredients and high quality meat for dogs ‘who deserve the best’.
The business was shortlisted in the start-up category of the Pitch to Rich competition, run by Virgin, but missed out on the top prize.
Dawn said: “Mammy’s Biscuits was created after our dog attended puppy class but was too lively to be trained.
“We were advised this was due to the quality of the treats we were using – so we researched and created our own recipes.”
Other dogs loved the treats too, and Mammy’s Biscuits was born.
