An Ashington-based photographer is developing digital skills in a flash with the help of a new, fully-funded training programme from iNorthumberland Business Support.
Anita Nicholson recently launched her business – Anita Nicholson Photography – after five years of snapping shots of landscapes as a hobby, and later being asked to take photos that could be used as feature walls in boardrooms for the company she worked for.
Knowing that digital marketing would play a key role in helping her to grow her business and having heard about the free online training and masterclasses available from iNorthumberland Business Support, Anita immediately saw the potential benefits and signed up for the programme.
The nine online courses – accessible from anywhere via an e-learning portal – include social media, SEO and cloud technologies. SMEs can also attend face-to-face masterclasses to further their training and learn from experts in their field.
Upon completing the nine courses, qualifying businesses will be able to apply for a year’s free superfast broadband, or may be able to claim back the cost of installation if they are already using the service.
Anita said: “All of the courses available on the e-learning portal have given me valuable knowledge and helpful tips to improve the way I market my business online, and have both enhanced and reinforced my current understanding of areas I was already familiar with.”
