Bosses at a Cramlington company are celebrating after securing official approval for their work in helping patients.

Physiological Measurements Ltd (PML), based in The Village surgery, Dudley Lane, deliver services on behalf of the NHS and private clients across the UK.

And recently it passed a rigorous inspection process for quality management by the British Standard Institute (BSI).

Jon Pither, director at PML, said: “The certificate proves that we can ensure that the needs and expectations of our customers are met.

“It is something we have to work towards constantly and it forms the fabric of everything that we do in terms of business processes across our whole business, we are very pleased to have achieved it again.”

PML offers medical tests to patients referred by GPs as an alternative to going to hospital and facing waiting lists.

The company carry out the procedures in existing GP surgeries, health centres and community hospitals.

The BSI scrutinise company internal audits, look at customer satisfaction levels, look at new product or service introduction and maintenance.

Mr Pither added: “All our staff have played a vital role in this achievement.

“People using our services can be assured that we have been extensively assessed in respect of quality and standards.

“We respond quickly to change and are swift to adopt new methods and best practices to provide the best service to our clients.

“We are delighted that the BSI has recognised our excellence in the field.”

The team at PML are also currently working towards an environmental standards certificate, for which an audit will be carried out in the coming months.
