AN Ashington-based organisation has been shortlisted for a St John Ambulance Award.
SPX Bolting Systems is up for First Aid for Manufacturing, Processing and Production and will find out if it is successful on November 19, at an event hosted by survival expert Ray Mears.
The firm designs and manufactures specialised hydraulic bolt tightening equipment and flange management software packages mainly for the oil and gas sectors.
The company also provides accredited training courses in health and safety as it relates to their products.
Seventy five percent of its staff at Ashington are trained in first aid.
Bob Fogerty, SPX Bolting Systems director of training, said: “SPX Bolting Systems is more than just a supplier of the best equipment in the world.
“We also recognise that the best health and safety and first aid training is essential for the welfare of our people and for the efficiency of our operations.
“At SPX Bolting Systems, we put training at the heart of everything we do.
“This is the first time we have entered the St John Ambulance First Aid Awards and we’re very proud and delighted to have been shortlisted.”
