More businesses support awards

FURTHER sponsors have been added to the line-up for this year’s Northumberland Business Awards.

Tustain Motors has come on board as sponsor for the Best Start-up Award.

Managing director Brian Baxter, pictured, said: “I know first-hand how difficult it is to take an idea and turn it into a business.

“From finding the right premises, raising funds and eventually launching the business, it is a long and complicated process; this is why we are delighted to be sponsoring the Best Start-up business category this year.”

Another new sponsor to the event is Alnwick-based Kitson Windows, who are backing the Keep It Local Award.

General manager Peter Garven said: “We are delighted to sponsor the Keep It Local Award as we believe in using local businesses whenever possible and understand the importance of being able to deal with someone locally.

“We are proud to be a Northumberland-based company, with showrooms in Alnwick, Berwick and Ashington, and we also manufacture our windows, doors and conservatories here in the county.

“Buying locally helps support jobs and businesses in Northumberland.”

The awards are organised by Northeast Press, publishers of the News Post Leader, and sister titles the Morpeth Herald and Northumberland Gazette, and Tweeddale Press’s Berwick Advertiser.

The prize-giving ceremony is at Linden Hall near Morpeth, on Thursday, November 17.

They recognise businesses across a range of activities, with categories for Business of the Year, Training Award, Entrepreneur of the Year, Business in the Community, Green Business of the Year, Keep it Local, Technology Award, Apprentice Ambassador, Best Business Start-up and Export Award, and Outstanding Contribution Award.
