AN ASHINGTON business is taking part in a campaign which is appealing for warm clothing to help homeless people this winter.
Wansbeck Chiropractic Clinic is supporting the Newcastle-based Winter Coat Amnesty, which is hoping to make a difference again this Christmas as it works with homeless organisations.
Appeal organisers are looking for old coats, jumpers, scarves or gloves that people can donate to help people who are less fortunate.
Anyone who can help can drop off warm clothing at Wansbeck Chiropractic Clinic, Accredited Research Clinic, at 196 Milburn Road, Ashington.
Claire Paczko, one of the volunteers who also helps at Crisis in Newcastle, said: “Volunteering for Crisis really makes you appreciate what you’ve got and how much of a difference the things we’ve forgotten about can make to the vulnerable people coming to the centre.”
Colleague Andy Brown added: “In 2011, the six-week project took a life of it’s own and by the second week we had seven drop-of points and a lot of support.”
