A campaign has been raising awareness of motorcyclists on the roads.
Northumbria Police took part in a National Police Chief’s Council (NPCC) Motorcycle Week of Action to try to reduce the number of motorcyclists killed or seriously injured on the roads.
Since the beginning of 2016, 12 motorcyclists have been killed after collisions on roads in the Northumbria force area.
The campaign focused on raising awareness amongst general motorists, as well as motorcycle users.
Inspector Dean Hood, of Northumbria Police Motor Patrols, said: “It is crucial we work hard to engage with motorists to highlight the vulnerability of some road users, including motorcyclists, and this campaign is a great opportunity to raise awareness.”
