A county MP supported a campaign on Valentine’s Day opposing privatisation of the NHS.
Blyth Valley Labour MP Ronnie Campbell turned out on ‘Love the NHS Day’ to collect signatures in a mass petition to block moves to privatise the NHS.
He said: “The government want to see an NHS run for private profit not public benefit.
“Only Labour has pledged to safeguard the NHS from privatisation and you can’t trust the other parties who have consistently broken promises on the health service.
“Remember David Cameron and ‘no top down reorganisation of the NHS in 2010’?
“Five years later the coalition spent over £3bn on a ‘top down privatisation of the NHS’.”
