Four volunteers from Ashington Children’s Centre were invited to visit the Action for Children London office to meet some centrally-based teams and give their views.

Shannon Iredale, Caitlin Mather, Tiegan Hill and Shannon Armstrong support staff in the Learning Together Through Play and Baby Play sessions.

Caitlin said: “The best things about being a volunteer are helping others and building confidence and skills while gaining more experience.”

Tiegan added: “The sessions are not only purely for the babies’ benefit but for the parents also – a place to make friends and share experience/queries/advice with each other and professionals.”
