Emergency services have dealt with a car crash on the A189 Spine Road.
Police, paramedics and fire crews were all called to the accident, near the roundabout with Cowpen Road in Blyth.
The alarm was raised at 4.30pm when the car, believed to be a Mini Cooper, was hit by a van.
Fire crews had to cut the roof off the car to get the occupant out, who was taken to hospital.
Drivers were being diverted off the slip road onto the roundabout.
A police spokesperson said: “the road was down to one lane but is now re-opened.
“Two vehicles were involved. It is not thought anyone was seriously injured.”
