Plans have been submitted to extend a caravan park in south east Northumberland.

Park Resorts Ltd is looking to extend Sandy Bay Holiday Park in North Seaton to attract more visitors to the area.

The Hertfordshire-based company has submitted a planning application to Northumberland County Council for the change of use of land to extend the facility.

As part of the plans, the company is looking to construct 99 additional holiday static caravans at the site.

The park already features an indoor heated swimming pool, outoor play area, ornamental lake, stables and pony trekking, multisports court, pitch and putt, mini market, amusements and access to the beach.

The site – which attracts families from all over the UK – features static caravans for sale as well as caravans to rent, touring pitches and seasonal touring pitches.
