Staff and residents of Northlea Court in Northumbrian Road have enjoyed exercising their taste-buds, as well as their legs in two recent activities.

First, a group teamed up for a sponsored walk to raise money for the residents’ social fund.

They set off from the home, walking to Cramlington Village, where they stopped off at John The Clerk pub for refreshments, before making the journey back.

Then it was time for a ‘cake-off’ as part of a Macmillan Coffee Morning to raise funds for the cancer care charity.

Staff from the nearby Brockwell Seam pub went along to help judge the entries in a blind taste test, and Lorraine Johnson was declared the winner.

The cakes were then sold to boost the Macmillan collection total.
