CARERS Northumberland are hosting an event this month which focuses on finding financial help and getting a helping hand.
Carers Rights Day is held on Friday November 30 at Stannington Village Hall from 10am until 3pm and is about getting carers the information and advice they need.
The theme is ‘Getting Help in Tough Times’.
Carers Northumberland supports those providing unpaid care to sick, ill or disabled relatives, friends or neighbours.
Ian Lavery MP for Wansbeck will be opening the event and those attending will hear from guest speakers Michele O’Brien, Adult Services’ Carers and Partnerships Manager from Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust; who will talk about Carers Assessments and getting a helping hand.
Meg Kirby from the charity Legacare will be there too, to talk about financial planning and wills and there will be workshops focusing on finding financial help and making the most of technology.
Anyone living in Northumberland who is a carer is welcome to attend.
