Koast Radio made a big splash at Newbiggin with their Seaside Summer Madness Event.

The event was supported by Newbiggin businesses and featured local bands the Logoz, the Condemned and the Ska-Toons.

A nearby scooter and motorbike club also took part.

£500 was raised for The Newcastle RVI children’s cancer ward and Wansbeck Hopsital Palliative Care unit, receiving £250 each.

The Koast team visited the Palliative Care Unit to present the cheque and to see the work that the staff do every day.

The radio station is a not for profit community radio station ran by volunteers.

Shows are broadcasted on 106.6fm across South East Northumberland and online.
