Shoppers helped make Christmas extra special for children.
The Keel Row Shopping Centre, in Blyth, held a ‘Give a Gift’ campaign throughout December to collect presents for the NSPCC and St Oswald’s Hospice.
A total of 187 presents were donated to be given to a child on Christmas Day.
Laura Elliott, St Oswald’s Hospice fundraiser, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled that so many of the public got on board.
“The generosity that the public has shown has truly helped to make hundreds of children’s Christmas extra special and I would like to take the opportunity to thank each and every one who dug deep and donated a present.”
Callum Reid, Keel Row Shopping Centre manager, said: “I’m enormously proud our shoppers have demonstrated so much generosity.”
“It really is a special initiative and seeing how grateful the kids were to receive their presents makes each and every penny spent on a gift for the campaign truly worthwhile.”
