A COMMUNITY organisation has raised hundreds of pounds for a life-saving service.
Ashington RAOB recently held a charity night in the town to raise much needed funds for the Great North Air Ambulance.
Stewardess Christine Arris said: “We held a charity night with music from the Alley Cats, a raffle and dominoes games, and we were really pleased to be able to raise so much money for such a worthy cause.”
A total of £785 was raised on the night, which was given to the GNAA last week.
Money from can collections is still being counted and will be given at a later date.
