Charity support from Sir John Hall

MAY I promote a special event featuring a special person.

Sir John Hall has had a great impact on the north east of England over the last 40 years or so.

His efforts to transform the retail experience at The MetroCentre is well known, as is his work at Newcastle United.

Sir John is a son of Ashington and North Seaton and has done many good things in his life to the benefit of many.

Now he is supporting a charity called Maggie’s Centre, which aims to provide a place for families, friends and loved ones affected by cancer to get help and support.

Maggie’s Centre will begin building shortly at The Freeman Hospital and will be a place of real benefit to all people in our region.

On Thursday, June 9, a special event will be taking place when the Rotary Club of Newcastle presents ‘An Evening with Sir John Hall’, at the Performing Arts Centre at Newcastle Royal Grammar School at 7.30pm.

Sir John will be in a structured conversation with Pam Royle of ITV along a Desert Island Discs format, followed by an open questions and answers session.

Tickets for the event are available from myself, Peter Tracey on (0191) 237 2425.
