SINGER Chloe Elliot is preparing for one of the biggest performances of her life next weekend, when she takes part in a national competition.
The teenager will be belting out songs in the Open Mic north area final on Sunday December 11, knowing she is just one step away from performing at the O2 Arena in London.
Chloe, who will be performing with guitarist Chris Hull, from Wallsend, cannot wait to get on stage.
She said: “We are going to be performing a medley of three songs, Fallen by Alicia Keys, California King Bed by Rhianna, and I love Rock and Roll.
“We have been practising and hopefully it will go well.
“We find out on the day if we are through.”
Only three acts from all of the contestants go through to the next round, so the pressure is on the pair to pull it out of the bag, even though they never thought they would get this far.
“We never thought we would get through, we entered it for the fun but we are so pleased to have made it this far,” Chloe added.
“It’s a mixture of excitement and nerves ahead of Sunday.”
The double act only started performing at the beginning of the year, and as well as progressing in the competition they have landed themselves high profile gigs including performing at St James’ Park to guests watching the Chelsea match.
Chloe is hoping to follow in the steps of her idols like Jessie J and make a career out of singing.
She added: “Obviously it’s a really tough industry but if there is an opportunity to get on board then I will take it.”
Chloe and Chris will perform at the Dewsbury Theatre on Sunday, December 11, in the Open Mic Contest north final.
