A group aiming to promote cycling have honoured those members who have gone the extra mile.
A total of 70 cyclists attended WATBike Cycling Group’s annual awards to honour the 100 leisure cycle rides the group had run over the past year.
Activities were also held on the night which raised more than £400 for Ashington-based WATBus Community Transport charity.
The main award of WATBiker of the Year went to Claire Wilkinson, from Holywell.
Claire, 54, who has only been cycling for the past 18 months, said “I was really shocked to win the award – going on the regular WATBike rides has improved my health and fitness tremendously, to the point where I’m now confident to ride up to 50 miles in a day and looking forward to some two and three day rides this coming year.”
