Volunteers have been helping spruce up a popular visitor attraction.

Northumberland Wildlife Trust’s volunteers have been making the most of the good weather by planting 6,500 hedging trees at its Hauxley nature reserve on Druridge Bay as part of its Dynamic Druridge Project.

Situated next to the recently purchased new piece of land, the new trees are just the start of what promises to be a very exciting 12 months for the wildlife charity, and they will eventually screen the area off from the new circular walk to ensure that the wonderful array of birds visiting the site aren’t startled by walkers.

Alex Lister, from the trust, said: “I cannot thank my faithful army of volunteers enough for their tireless work.”
