A coach firm from south east Northumberland has been named as a finalist for a national award.

Gardiners NMC, based on Coopies industrial estate in Morpeth and which specialises in coach holidays, is one of four finalists in the Coach Travel Programme catergory at the annual UK Coach Awards.

Adrian Smith, managing director of Gardiners NMC, said: “We are very proud to have been nominated for this award.

“Having just invested £500,000 in two new top of the range coaches for our holiday programme, this recognition makes it all worthwhile and gives a real boost to the whole team at Gardiners NMC.”

UK Coach Awards chairman, Allan Edmondson, added: “For the sixth year running, over 200 nominations were submitted for the various award categories, many from customers who have responded to our appeal to tell us about their experience of quality service from operators and front line staff.

“Our sincere congratulations go to all the finalists in this year’s awards.

“The judges will have a tough job in selecting the winners from such a strong field.

“To achieve high standards, coach travel relies on a whole raft of people and organisations to work together to deliver that extra special trip, day out or holiday.

“We’re delighted to hear about best practice in all these areas from the people who really matter, and to recognise and reward the commitment and hard work involved.”
