Mr Livingstone, who was entering the gongs for the first time, also received Best in Category for his Seville Marmalade.

The festival, which has been running for more than ten years, had received entries from as far away as Portugal, Japan and Australia, with higher standards and tastier marmalades than ever.

Started by Jane Hasell-McCosh the awards are now sponsored by Fortnum & Mason, Mackays and Paddington Bear.

Colin was presented with his prize by Tim French of Fortum & Mason, with Karen Jankel, daughter of Paddington Bear author Michael Bond, and Martin Grant who is managing director of Mackays.
