A group of three local young lads are organising a fishing competition to raise funds for Newbiggin Lifeboat Station.
The event will take place on Saturday, February 7, from 10am, with the weigh-in getting under way at 4.45pm at the Bank House Social Club in the town.
Tickets for the competition will be available at the Bank House car park between 8am and 9pm on the Saturday morning priced at £12 for adults and £5 for juniors.
In addition there is an optional ‘flatty pot’ – this is the additional prize fund for heavest flat fish, which is £2 to enter, and juniors and adults can both enter this.
All money that goes into the flatty pot will win the pot if they catch the heaviest flat fish.
The weigh-in and prizegiving will take place from 4.45pm in the Bank House Social Club.
Further details and rules for the competition are on display on posters displayed around Newbiggin.
