Concert to aid society

A group of singers is hoping to hit the right note on a spring tour.

Beaconsfield Operatic Society, based in Blyth, is currently taking part in its annual spring tour .

Members will be visiting St John’s Methodist Church, Whitley Bay, on Saturday at 4.30pm for a concert entitled Magical Musicals.

The programme comprises songs from many well-known shows and films with the theme of magic.

Admission is £5 which includes tea, scones and cakes. The concert is to raise funds towards Beaconsfield’s annual production, which this year is Sister Act.

Tickets need to be pre-booked and are available through St John’s church via 07960 180073.

Susan Smith, the musical director, said: “It is always a delight to bring Beaconsfield’s concert to St John’s.”

“We always get a warm reception and we are looking forward to a fun afternoon.”
