Newcastle’s Marie Curie Hospice is lining up a fundraising trip to Costa Rica in January 2018.

The nine-day excursion will include six days of trekking, as well as the chance to take dip in the Pacific Ocean at Playa Hermosa at the end of the challenge.

Hospice fundraiser Katie Searles said: “Trekking for us will help Marie Curie to continue providing expert care, guidance and support for people living with a terminal illness, and for their families.”

She added: “Our treks are a fantastic way to raise money for the hospice, and our fundraising team are there to support you every step of the way with ideas and training tips.

“People take on a personal challenge and become part of a supportive team who then become great friends.

“Everyone shows such determination, and it is clear to see how much they enjoy it.

“I hope that many more people will get in touch to find out about this challenge.”
