Thousands of pounds has been raised for charity thanks to the support of a councillor.
The Civic Head of Northumberland County Council, Coun Kathy Graham, has raised £4,237 for kidney research and treatment during her term in office.
Last week she handed over a cheque for £3,237 to Kidney Research UK, and a further cheque for £1,000 to the children’s kidney unit at the Royal Victoria Infirmary.
The money was raised through charity events over the last 12 months, which included dinners and a ball.
Coun Kathy Graham said: “People have been very generous towards this cause and I am thrilled that we have been able to raise such a great sum of money which will be spent in the north east.”
