An iconic landmark in Northumberland has been used as part of a Discover Your England TV campaign aimed at raising the profile of national destinations in the run-up to the Rugby World Cup 2015.
In a very northern start to the advert, Hadrian’s Wall is showcased over the stirring words of William Blake’s Jerusalem.
James Berresford, chief executive of VisitEngland who created the advert, said: “The TV advert showcases England as a fantastic place to book a holiday or short break and I hope it gets the British public as excited as we are about what’s in store for 2015.
“We want to entice Brits to set out to find what makes England a unique and special destination for them.”
Jude Leitch, general manager of Northumberland Tourism, said: “We are delighted to be working with VisitEngland on such an important sporting event in 2015.
“It’s great to see Northumberland’s stunning scenery used to inspire people to take some time to visit the area while attending a rugby match.”
