County stops to remember those killed during wars

Hundreds of people turned out to remember those who had lost their lives serving their country during conflicts over the years.

Events took place at War Memorials in Blyth, Ashington, Newbiggin and Bedlington on Sunday as they country stopped to remember the sacrifices made by servicemen and women over the years.

And a civic service of Remembrance was held on Monday at 11am at Morpeth County Hall

At all the events, residents joined ex and current service personnel, cadets, scouts, guides, dignitaries and more in a two-minute silence before wreaths were laid at each memorial.
