An Ashington couple are celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary.
Pat and Albert Parmley reached 60 years of marriage this year in the town they have lived their entire married life.
The civic head of Ashington Marjorie Chambers visited the couple recently to present a bouquet of flowers and chocolates on behalf of the town.
She said: “It was a pleasure to visit Pat and Albert on the occasion of their diamond wedding anniversary.
“They have worked and lived in Ashington throughout their marriage and we wish them many more years together.”
Pat is well known in the town as an employee of Ashington jeweller Hilton Thomas.
She has worked in his North Seaton Road shop for a number of years.
Meanwhile, Albert worked as a pitman at the nearby collieries.
