A PET store in Cramlington is fundraising in aid of Dogs for the Disabled this weekend.
Over the past ten years Pets at Home has raised an impressive £500,000 thanks to events like the one planned for Saturday and Sunday.
The Manor Walks store manager Colin Dale said: “We’ll be running ‘round-up to the pound’ on our tills, which is an easy way for people to donate a little amount which will go a long way to help Dogs for the Disabled.”
The money raised will help partnerships between people living with disabilities and trained assistance dogs in the local area.
Dogs for the Disabled train dogs for children and adults with physical disabilities, helping them to become more independent.
Marketing director at Dogs for the Disabled Steve Billington said: “We’re delighted Pets at Home has been able to partner with us this weekend.
“The local fundraising will enable dogs to be trained, offering freedom and independence to people with disabilities”
