A LAPTOP, games consoles and cash were stolen during a burglary in Blyth.
Thieves broke into the house in Harper Street between noon and 1pm on Friday, February 25, but police believed they were disturbed as the stolen items were recovered nearby.
Blyth Neighbourhood Inspector Trevor Oakley said: “This burglary took place in a short space of time, within an hour on a Friday afternoon.
“I’d appeal for anyone who was in the area around then to contact police if they saw anything suspicious.
“I’d also urge residents to ensure all windows and doors are locked, at all times, but especially when leaving the house.
“We know there are thieves in the area who are trying doors, windows and cars until they find one that’s unlocked, then helping themselves to anything left on show.
“Help us stop them by locking doors and windows and reporting any suspicious behaviour.”
