Man suffers broken jaw in unprovoked attack

A man was left with a broken jaw following an unprovoked attack in Ashington.

The 35-year-old victim was approached by two men, believed to be in their 20s, at 8pm on Friday, July 5, at the People’s Park, close to Wansbeck Road.

The pair tried to talk to the man before punching him and knocking him to the ground before running off.

The victim had his jaw broken in two places and also suffered concussion and sore ribs when treated after the incident.
