Two men have appeared in court following a burglary in Ashington.
A house in Somerset Close was broken into and car keys stolen from inside between 7.30pm and 9pm on Saturday, June 1.
The resident’s car was then stolen from outside the house but was later recovered.
Matthew Ross Thain, 22, of Beatrice Street, Ashington, has been charged with burglary and taking a motor vehicle without consent.
Christopher Lynn, 19, of Sycamore Street, Ashington, has been charged with the same offences, and also driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and no insurance.
Both men appeared at South East Northumberland Magistrates’ Court in Bedlington on Tuesday, June 4.
