Police issue appeal for help to find missing dog

POLICE believe a dog stolen from a Newcastle garden last week could be in Blyth after another missing pet was found in the town.

The two adult black Labradors, a mother and daughter, were taken from a rear yard in Warkworth Street, Lemington, between 8am and 7.30pm on Monday, March 7.

Two days later, the dogs’ owners saw the younger of the dogs for sale on an internet trading website.

They travelled to Blyth to be reunited with the dog, and the police then arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of theft.

Pc Kevin Pentland said: “It was extremely upsetting for the owners to have their dogs stolen, and I’m pleased they’ve now got one of them back.

“We’re carrying out a number of inquiries to trace the mother.

“It’s believed she’s possibly in the Blyth area, either with someone or wandering the streets.”
