Staff threatened with knife in Seaton Delaval bookies robbery

Bookmaker staff in Seaton Deleval were threatened with a knife during a robbery on Wednesday night,

At around 8:45pm on Wednesday, April 9, a man entered the Chisolm bookmakers in Elsdon Avenue and threatened staff with a knife.

He demanded money was handed over and fled the scene with an amount of cash.

The staff member was left shaken by the incident but unhurt.

The offender is described as being around 5ft 6ins tall, in his 20s, of very skinny build and had a very pale complexion.

He had light stubble on his face and was wearing a dark wooly hat - that appeared too big for him - a dark jacket and dark bottoms.

Police believe he may have been on a mountain bike.

Officers are in the area carrying out enquiries and reassurance patrols and anyone with any information into the robbery is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191.
