Stolen items are unaccounted for

A NUMBER of items are being sought after a burglary in Bedlington.

Thieves got into a house in Meadow Court between 11am and 3pm on Thursday, June 23, and stole a Dell laptop, silver Kodak digital camera, a pink Ipod Nano and an amount of money.

Two youths – aged 15 and 16 – were later arrested in connection with the burglary, appearing before a Youth Court on Saturday.

But detectives investigating the incident say the property stolen is still outstanding and are appealing for information as to its whereabouts.

Officers are especially keen to trace and speak to a woman who spoke to the two youths shortly after the burglary took place.

DC Roy Burdess, of Bedlington CID, said: “We’d like to speak to a woman who we know spoke to the two youths just after the burglary happened on Thursday and quite near to the Meadow Court area.

“We think that the youths showed the member of the public some euro notes and had asked if they could spend it in this country.

“We’d really like to speak to this woman as she may be able to help us with our enquiries.”

Anyone with any information into the burglary is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 03456 043 043 ext 69191.
