A SHOPPER had her purse stolen after she was distracted by another woman in a Morpeth supermarket on Saturday morning.
The 63-year-old was in the Morrisons store in Stanley Street at around 11.30am when she was distracted by the woman while a man took her purse from her trolley.
The man and woman are both said to have been of eastern European appearance and around 5ft 10in tall.
The man was of medium build, had short dark hair and was wearing a blue hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms.
The woman had long dark hair and was wearing a black bomber-style jacket and faded blue jeans.
Neighbourhood inspector Alison Best said: “Anyone who was in the supermarket on Saturday and who may have also been approached by the couple, or who has any information that could help identify the offenders, is asked to contact police.”
