TWO burglaries in Bedlington have prompted police to warn landlords to make sure their properties are secure.
Thieves got inside a vacant house in the Eastgate area of Scotland Gate between Tuesday, March 1, and Tuesday, March 8, and made off with copper piping.
A boiler from a vacant property in Beatty Road was also taken between Monday, February 28, and Tuesday, March 8.
Neighbourhood inspector Sandra Davies said: “Northumbria Police are currently running a scheme where landlords and property owners can have metal boilers marked for free.
“Specialist crime prevention advisers will come out to your property and mark your metal, making it less attractive to thieves and also giving police a way to identify where any recovered metal has been stolen from.”
Police are appealing for anyone with any information into the burglaries to call them on 03456 043043 ext 69191.
